Springfield Air-Powered 3-Stage Table Pedestal
Furnishing an RV requires quite a bit of imagination. The best way to cram a ton of utility into a small area is to utilize components that serve multiple purposes. For example, rather than folding your table up and stowing it away at bedtime, wouldn’t it be better if it actually became part of the bed? Meet the Springfield Air-Powered 3-Stage Pedestal.
This ingenious design performs table duty during the day. Then it lowers on a gas piston to become part of the bed at night. The piston adds stability and assists with raising and lowering. Unlike a motor, however, the piston is simple and reliable and the air-powered table base doesn’t drain the battery no matter how many times you use it.
The real beauty, however, is how one piece of furniture incorporates into another to save space. This ingenious air-powered table design makes your camper feel more spacious during the day. Then it provides room for more sleeping area at night. Dang!
Features:
- Air-powered table pedestal base adjusts to any height between: 12-3/4 to 28in
- Gas shocks provide 40lbs of lift pressure
- Can hold up to 180 lbs, including table top weight
- The lighter the tabletop the better
- Heavier tables require help raising
- Works great on tables that are about 2x3feet
- Larger table could require two pedestals
- Low profile 12″ base offers superior support
- Fits most standard size tabletops
- Black finish is more expensive that the brushed finish due to powder coating coasts
Install Tips:
Typically subfloors are plywood. We’ll use either 5/16 threaded inserts and fancy stainless 1/4-20 hardware typically. Another option is using a large bore hole saw (2in) in the center of the pedestal and installing Tee nuts underneath the subfloor… and, if that’s not enough you could add some aluminum or steel plate underneath.
Brite Dip (Shiny/Polished) finish available special order, call or Contact.
Used in our Unimog Build, Airstream Overlander, and many more.
