Vandemonium ’26 Recap — What Happens When Utah’s Best Builders Share a Parking Lot

May 26, 2026

There aren’t many events in the adventure vehicle world that feel genuinely community-driven. Most shows are polished, ticketed, and built around vendors trying to sell you something. Vandemonium was never that.

Reparadise started Vandemonium years ago with a simple premise: get the builders, the brands, and the people who actually use these rigs into the same place. No admission. No pressure. Just good builds, good conversation, and the kind of energy that only happens when passionate people gather around things they love.

After a pandemic-era hiatus, we brought it back last year. This year — Vandemonium ’26 — it got even better.

What Is Vandemonium?

Vandemonium is an annual adventure vehicle meetup hosted at Reparadise HQ in Salt Lake City, Utah. It’s free to attend and open to everyone — from seasoned overlanders and professional fabricators to curious newcomers who just want to see what’s possible.

The format is simple: builders and brands show up, display their latest work, and connect directly with the community. No middlemen, no dealer markups, no gatekeeping. Just rigs, people, and conversation.

This year we added something new — a giant garage sale. Builders and brands brought B-stock, take-offs, and rare shop parts and sold them directly to attendees on the spot. It turned out to be one of the most popular parts of the day.

Vandemonium ’26 — What Went Down

The Reparadise parking lot filled up with some of the best adventure vehicle builders and brands in Utah. Here’s who showed up:

Off Highway Van rolled in with their Doc Holliday spec van — a stunning Mercedes Sprinter build currently available. OHV has been engineering high-end, lightweight adventure vans in Salt Lake City since 2016 and continues to set the bar.

Rocky Mountain Builds brought their full custom camper van and truck camper chops to the table. James and Max do full interiors, power systems, plumbing, and custom cabinetry — all right here in Salt Lake City.

Wasatch Overland showed up with two rigs: a 2011 E350 with a factory 4×4 conversion and a fascinating backstory — pulled out of a yard after 15 years with only 400 miles on it — and their Land Cruiser Super Cap 80 pop top conversion. A crowd favorite.

Blackthorn Campervans repped their custom build and rental fleet out of South Salt Lake. Their rental operation means every design decision they make gets real-world tested before it ends up in a custom build — a serious advantage.

Bitterroot Builds kept it simple and direct: bring your idea, they’ll build it. Custom conversions, repairs, and upfits on Sprinter, Transit, and ProMaster vans.

Explore Elevated brought their Gemini model truck top camper, made right in West Jordan, UT. Purpose-built for truck owners who want a serious basecamp setup without sacrificing trail capability.

SAGA Vans — the van kit side of the Reparadise family — showcased a truck camper built from scratch at the shop using UltraLight plywood on an old F-150. Proof that the platform works beyond just Sprinter builds. We also brought out the Iglhaut Allrad SAGA build to really turn some heads (36″ tires on a sprinter!)

Equipt Expedition Outfitters brought their full lineup of expedition-grade gear — fridges, shelter systems, and adventure travel equipment sourced from South Africa and Europe. Twenty years in the game and still one of the best in the business.

Rollercam introduced a lot of people to their patented cam buckle tie-down straps for the first time. Once you use them, standard straps feel like a downgrade.

Avatar Offroad had one of the most stacked displays of the day — ski boxes, clamshell storage boxes, roof racks, ladders, side steps, and a prototype bike rack rated for e-bikes. All manufactured in-house in Sandy, Utah.

Alt Life Vans brought a beautiful family build — queen bed, bunk beds, modular dining setup — and the quiet confidence of a shop that only does a handful of builds a year and puts everything into each one.

Timberline Products was a last-minute addition and a welcome surprise. Kevin Tisue makes bed lift systems for campervans out of Park City and gave attendees a hands-on demo that turned a lot of heads.

UltraLight Plywood rounded out the vendor lineup with a side-by-side weight comparison against Baltic birch that pretty much sold itself.

The Vibe

Cold beer courtesy of RoHa Brewing. Good tacos from the food truck. Music in the background. A cornhole bracket that got more competitive than anyone expected. And everywhere you looked — genuinely impressive builds surrounded by the people who built them and the people who want to build their own or purchase one someday.

That’s Vandemonium. That’s the whole point.

See You Next Year
