1968 Airstream Safari

It’s no secret that the film and TV industry like Utah for its immensely variable geography. Knowing that, we set out to produce a mobile office that’s not only a backdrop suitable for anywhere, anytime America, but a functional workplace too.

The 1968 Airstream Safari’s twenty-foot body riding on a single axle makes for a maneuverable unit, and helped this model catch our attention. Further more, and un-like contemporary models, its compound-curved panels which favor style over budget and larger, un-inhibited windows helped too. The vintage Airstream Safari office was a go.

Taken down to the essentials, this Airstream’s now insulated with closed-cell foam and features all new 110 and 12v wiring. But that’s the boring stuff. What’s important is the tactile black walnut bureau with clutter-reducing under-desk storage and 32in lcd Tv. Constructed with a solid inch-and a-quarter black walnut (this isn’t a butcher block) the rear quarters of this Airstream Safari’s craftsmanship and attention to detail inspires creativity while focusing on productivity.

At the opposite end, the entrance is inviting booth seating with soft-open dovetail drawers to toss handbags and outer layers into without encumbering the interior space. lying in-between these two spaces is a wet bar, with a fridge and sink for serving drinks. Keeping the vintage Safari climate controlled is a Dometic Low-Pro A/C and heater unit, with two Fantastic vents to quickly clear any un-welcome atmosphere … more boring stuff. To offset that, this Airstream Safari’s 150watt RMS, Bluetooth connected sound system efficiently and effectively reproduces audio frequencies from 20 to 20,000 Hz.

Throughout the Airstream safari, ambiance down lighting ensures the proper mood for entertaining clients or just kicking back after a long day on set. Once a cramped camper, this Airstream can now be an instant office where style and function are key players.
