Privé Revaux Sprinter

Serial entrepreneur David Schottenstein recognized a broken market — fashion sunglasses — and decided to shake things up a bit. He also called in some high-profile Hollywood A-listers (Jamie Foxx, Hailee Steinfeld, and Ashley Benson among others) to add a bit of cache.
Thus, Privé Revaux was born. Fortunately for Reparadise, Schottenstein’s new brand needed some high-style wheels to take its image on the road. After some thought about where this mobile sun glass store would frequent… anywhere from dense metropolis, to crowded festivals, to popular beaches — and how much space would be needed to display their products, we set out to locate the perfect vehicle — a lightly used long-wheelbase, high-top Freightliner Sprinter.
We chose this platform for it’s urban maneuverability, large interior volume, and efficiency. With a Sprinter secured and in house, Reparadise got to work… job 1, of course, was to pop that Freightliner badge off the grill and replace it with a 3-pointed star. It’s about high fashion, after all. Next up, Reparadise’s in-house engineer, Connor, provided the Piece De Resistance — the Double Hinge External Rapid Display System. Or, know internally as the DHERDS…

It took a few concepts to develop a system that would be self standing when deployed, retain the sunglasses when in transit, and not interfere with interior space when stowed away. The resulting DHERDS we’re quite proud off — as it provides Prive Revaux with 130 Skus on display in 30 seconds, lets people enter and exit the Sprinter when stowed, and doesn’t require the display to be stocked and restocked every time they set up for an event.

The interior displays were designed by RPG for Prive Revaux’s brick-and-mortar locations, and were modified by Reparadise for use in the Sprinter van. The overall color and material theme for these displays is carried throughout the interior. Smoky mirror walls, polished aluminum ceiling seams, and trim elements of the double-hinged external rapid deployment system reflect RPG design language.

An additional standout feature of this Sprinter van build is the uninterrupted and backlit ceiling, another Reparadise first — but, the concept was based on a backlit acrylic ceiling we fabricated to hide a seam in a vintage U-Hual Camper. The dimmable LED backlit ceiling only takes away a quarter inch to the van’s over-all height, and provides consistent and dispersed light throughout the sprinter’s interior.

Additionally, we avoided a roof-top A/C unit. These require a shroud that would protrude down form the ceiling and takeaway from headroom and disrupt the interior’s overall clean vibe. For cooling, we mounted a Dometic Cool Cat in the coach with custom vents. We use this A/C unit in many vintage camper restorations where a gaudy plastic unit will take away from the iconic profile of Airstreams and their like.

The finishing off the Sprinter’s interior, a piano-black lounge with marine-grade synthetic leather adds style and durability, while a hidden cooler and wet bar with Isotherm Fridge and Dometic sink make sure Prive Revaux’s clients are kept cool and refreshed. Moving on to the outside, exterior upgrades include a gloss black vinyl wrap with Privé Revaux branding, a Fiama awning, and new wheels and tires ensure the Sprinter looks the part. Up top, a Roambuilt Safari Rack with integrated Hella Black Magic running lights serves as a rooftop party deck, complete with power and stereo hookups for a MC, DJ, or Band.

Behind the veneer of high-style appointments you’ll find a complex network of powered systems. for sound, three amps totaling 3,000 watts push two Earthquake subs and two 8-inch weatherproof speakers on the party deck / DJ stage. To ensure the van can operate remotely and off grid, a chassis-mounted, 3000-watt Power Tech diesel generator keeps everything  running strong, pulling fuel directly from the Sprinter’s fuel tank.

The Privé Revaux Mercedes Benz (Freightliner) Sprinter has appeared at events all over the country. It brings the party everywhere it goes. You can follow the vans whereabouts here and here.
